Supplier photograph note: birthday-sale badges in Haltech images are not a Chubbys Garage promotion. Main photo follows your selected ECU/model; shared connector-detail photos show both NA and NB alternatives, not two adapters included.

Nexus S2 or S3 ECU and plug-and-play adapter kits for specified manual Mazda MX5 NA or NB applications. Select the correct model and ECU. NA 1.6L requires a replacement full-range throttle position sensor; S2 versions retain less factory functionality than S3.

Product Info

Choose the ECU and Mazda model together: HT-212316 is Nexus S2 for NA, HT-213316 is Nexus S3 for NA, HT-212303 is Nexus S2 for NB and HT-213303 is Nexus S3 for NB. Each kit contains the selected ECU, its matching injection-moulded plug-and-play adapter harness, an M14 x 1.5 air-temperature sensor with plug and pins, and a 16-pin Tyco auxiliary I/O plug and pins. One model-specific adapter is included; the shared gallery shows alternative NA and NB connector details.

NA applications: manual-transmission Mazda Miata/MX5 1.6L and 1.8L with a two-plug, two-row factory ECU. USDM OBD-II 1996–1997, Special Edition SE and Anniversary models are excluded. On every manual 1.6L application, the factory throttle-position sensor must be disconnected and replaced with a compatible full-range sensor before operation. Haltech warns that using the original sensor can cause erratic wide-open-throttle behaviour and ECU damage.

NB applications: manual-transmission Australian 2000–2004 and US 2001–2005 models with a three-plug, three-row factory ECU, including the specified factory-turbo Special Edition, VCT and non-VCT applications. Confirm ECU connector layout before ordering. Nexus S2 versions reduce some factory functionality compared with S3; review the model-specific Haltech quick-start guide before selecting the ECU. Installation, calibration and tuning are required.
